Biography
| I'm a self-taught photographer, writer and poet. Some of my poetry has already been published, but I'm still working hard to develop and promote my writing in general. My photographic interests are in bands, fine art nude, erotica, classic portraits and weddings. My work has been used by the BBC - both on the television and online. Other exposure has come from glossy magazines, album inlays, band websites and also in the press. I have covered large outdoor concerts, taking photographs of artists such as Jools Holland and Lulu and have also been invited to exhibit in respected art galleries. The rather unorthodox style of photography that I practice frequently yields “different” results, giving my photography a distinct look and style - i.e. an identity. I have a dogmatic belief - that a photograph with quality speaks for itself - without necessarily having to use tools like Photoshop. Such old school views are somewhat controversial amongst many contemporary photographers, in an age where “over-perfected” images have become common the norm. Successful photography is often a case of 75% creative "vision" and 25% being able to take complete control of your camera - in order to obtain the shot you want. A self-confessed maverick, you’ll often find me doing things differently to my peers - but it’s not a case of simply doing so for the sake of it. In a world lacking originality and where few people stand up for what they believe in, or are prepared to take risks developing their individuality and expression, there is both method and creative madness hard at work behind the scenes of my photography.
